Sorry Its been dead here! Its been a crazy month with Christmas and both my daughter rand I have been sick with that lovely cold virus for over a month!!!!
But I do have some fun books for you!!!! The one good thing about being sick is that you can READ!!!!!!
OMG I love this series! I had already read Bully and Until You but did not know there was more in this series until I saw Falling Away. That is when I found Rival. These book are hot and have some major drama going on it them but they are totally worth it! I am freaking out waiting for the last book, AFLAME, which comes out in April but I am warning you, I totally bawled during the preview at the end of Falling Away which is funny because it is barely 2 pages!!! And the preview definitely leaves you with a hangover because it is a nasty little cliffhanger!!!!
Sorry I have been MIA. I had to take some much needed time off, so I could get stuff done around the house and with my family. My daughter is on her studio's dance team and I have my pageant stuff. It has been a little bit crazy. I have still been reading but just not as much. I do have some reviews and book suggestions on paper and they just need to be transferred on her, so while you wait for that I thought I would show you a few of my favorite books!
Becoming Calder and Finding Eden by Mia Sheridan
This book has a lot of potential. I love the whole Peter Pan theme. The first half of is perfect. Wendy is a little obsessed with finding her missing twin brothers and while out looking for them she meets Pete, Belle and the boys surfing. Wendy is drawn to Pete and he offers to help her find her brothers and teach her to surf. She stays with them in an abandoned beach house for a few weeks until she meets Jas, a local drug dealer, who reveals few of Pete secrets including a very important one about Wendy's brothers. A very upset Wendy runs straight to Jas for more information but to get into his party she needs to take a drug called "fairy dust". This is where the book falls apart for me. The beginning has a very dream like quality to it but the second half feels like a giant clusterfuck. There is no rhyme or reason for the rest of the book.
Wendy ends up at home and her parents dont believe anyone of her story and try to commit her even though she swears that she only took the drugs that one time. Jas ends up at her house in the middle of the night and they run off to find her brothers. One night after Jas saves her from being attacked, Wendy decides she is in love with Jas but something happens before she gets to tell him.
I did not like the ending at all. There is no real closure and there is no happily ever after. Its almost if Wendy thinks everything was a dream, the end. Thankfully, there is sort of a hint of the possibility of a sequel though...
I received a free copy of this book via netgalley for an honest review*
