I really loved this book! I have been waiting for Violet and Lukes book forever! Yes it was depressing but it made it seem more real. As much as I love Happy Ever Afters, I hate the HEA that are too fake! This book is real.
Violet is living with the fact, that she witnessed her parents being murdered when she was a child. She was moved from foster home to foster home until she is placed with a foster dad who teaches her to sell drugs and scam people. She is in the middle of the drug deal gone bad when she meets Luke.
Luke had a horrible childhood. His druggie mother was afraid of needles and would make 8 year old Luke shoot her up whenever she needed her fix. His sister committed suicide when she was teenager and when Luke sees Violet jump out of a window, he is determined to make sure she is ok.
The two of them are a unlikely pair, both angry and broken but both manage to bring out the little light that they both have left!
The only issue I have with this book ( but I knew it going in) was it has a cliffhanger ending and no HEA in this book but it is so worth it!
